To continue the subject of hyper-realistic art, we thought we’d show you these paintings by Robin Eley. My Love for You is a Stampede of Horses recently featured him, and at first glance we thought they were photographs. His subjects are not only deftly rendered, but appear to be quiet and full of purpose. Eley says, “Rather than shout, my paintings speak softly. Their message, both personal and profound audible only to those who make the effort to listen.” There’s a slight commonality in the mood of Eley’s work and that of Evan Penny. It’s the feeling that at any moment, the art may take action or meet our glance – some change that could occur and surprise us because of the life-likeness that each artist has imbued in his work.
